Thanks to funds raised through the 2024 REEL Earth Day Challenge, Indigenous-led programming in Metro Vancouver Regional Parks reached 1,822 participants across events, workshops, and guided experiences!

Highlights included:
•A biodiversity field trip with Kwantlen Elder Karen Gabriel, who shared her plant knowledge with students.
•Hands-on workshops with Katzie educator Deanna Miller, featuring soap-making, smudging ceremonies, and traditional skills.

These programs foster appreciation for Indigenous ways of knowing, deepen connections to the land, and encourage reflection on Truth and Reconciliation. We’re grateful for the continued collaboration with Indigenous educators and the support from the film and television industry in making this possible!
